BYD’s Fangchengbao Unveils Formula X Supercar and S-Series Sedan at 2026 Beijing Auto Show
At the 2026 Beijing Auto Show, BYD’s Fangchengbao brand revealed several new vehicles, including the Formula X supercar and an S-series sedan.
Formula X Supercar
A two-door convertible scheduled for mass production and market launch in 2027, the Formula X is described as the potential production version of the Super 9 concept car shown in 2024.
Key features include butterfly doors (also reported as gull-wing or scissor doors), a full carbon-fibre body, and an active electric rear spoiler.
The vehicle incorporates 19 air vents distributed across the body, along with diffusers to manage airflow from the rear wheels. Inside, a driver-centric “battle cockpit” layout features physical buttons, integrated sports seats, four-point racing harnesses, and a retractable steering wheel.
Powertrain specifics have not been announced, though the absence of visible exhaust outlets suggests an electric powertrain.
S-Series Sedan
Fangchengbao also introduced a new S-series sedan, further expanding the brand’s product portfolio. Detailed specifications were not provided at the event.
