Tens of thousands of Australians gathered at dawn services across the nation on April 25 to commemorate Anzac Day, honoring the service and sacrifice of veterans.
The day marks the 111th anniversary of the landing of Australian and New Zealand forces at Gallipoli in 1915. More than 8,000 Australian soldiers died during the campaign.
Anzac Day is observed annually on April 25, recognizing over 1.5 million Australians who have served in wars and peace operations. This includes 103,000 who died in the line of duty.
