Princess Anne and Princess Kate Mark 110th Anniversary of Gallipoli Landings at Anzac Day Events
Princess Anne and Princess Kate took part in Anzac Day events in London on 25 April 2025, marking the 110th anniversary of the Gallipoli landings. Anzac Day is a national day of remembrance in Australia and New Zealand that honors military personnel who served and died in all wars, conflicts, and peacekeeping operations.
Dawn Service
Princess Anne attended the dawn service at Wellington Arch in Hyde Park on April 25. The service commemorated the 1915 Gallipoli landings during World War I.
For the event, she wore a green coat, hat, black gloves, and a red poppy. A wreath of red poppies was placed by her at the arch.
The service included a reading of John McCrae's poem "In Flanders Fields" and concluded with the national anthems of the United Kingdom, New Zealand, and Australia.
The event was organized by the New Zealand and Australian High Commissions. Military personnel, dignitaries, and members of the public were in attendance. The Royal Family shared photographs of the event on Instagram.
Cenotaph and Westminster Abbey
Later on April 25, Princess Kate laid a wreath at the Cenotaph and attended a service at Westminster Abbey.
