A 16-year-old boy remains in critical condition after a stabbing on a bus in Joondalup on Saturday afternoon. Police have charged a 16-year-old male in connection with the incident.
Incident
On Saturday afternoon at approximately 4:00 PM, a physical altercation erupted between a group of youths on a bus traveling along Grand Boulevard. During the confrontation, one individual allegedly stabbed a 16-year-old victim with a knife.
According to reports, the victim was pulled from the bus during the attack. Several bus windows were reportedly smashed during the altercation. Two other teenagers present at the scene fled to a nearby home. The victim was found unconscious.
Injuries and Medical Response
The victim was initially transported via Priority 1 ambulance to Joondalup Health Campus with critical injuries. He was later transferred to Royal Perth Hospital, where he remains in critical condition.
A second teenage boy was taken to Joondalup Health Campus with minor injuries and has since been discharged.
Charges
A 16-year-old male from Carramar has been charged with:
- Intent to cause grievous bodily harm or prevent arrest
- Wounding or causing grievous bodily harm
The accused is scheduled to appear in court at a later date.
