Police Hunt for Man in Connection with Child Abduction
Alice Springs, NT – Northern Territory police have issued an urgent appeal for information regarding the abduction of a five-year-old girl, with a 47-year-old man wanted for questioning.
The child, identified as Sharon Collard, was reported missing from her residence at Marshall Court, Old Timers Camp, Alice Springs, in the early hours of the morning, at approximately 1:35am.
Police believe Sharon has been abducted.
Investigators are seeking to speak with Jefferson Lewis, a 47-year-old man known to police for domestic and family violence-related offences. Authorities confirm Lewis was in the area at the time of the incident and was staying at the same residence. He has not made himself known to police, and his whereabouts are currently unknown.
Description of the Missing Child
Sharon was last seen wearing:
- A dark blue short sleeve T-shirt with a white ring stripe around the neck and sleeves.
- Black boxer-style underwear.
Police urge anyone with information on the whereabouts of Jefferson Lewis or Sharon Collard to come forward immediately.
