Man Charged Following Alleged Attack in Toowoomba
A 20-year-old man from Glenvale, Toowoomba, has been charged with unlawful stalking and attempted rape following a violent incident in the city’s Newtown suburb.
The Alleged Incident
The attack is alleged to have occurred on March 30 at approximately 11pm. A 30-year-old woman was reportedly followed for several kilometers before being struck on the head with a rock. The offender then allegedly attempted to rape the victim.
The assault was interrupted by a nearby resident, causing the alleged offender to flee the scene on foot.
The quick response of a local resident is believed to have prevented the attack from escalating further.
