Salad Man: The Calmest Person at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner

"I have a bad back. I didn't want to get my tuxedo dirty on the floor." — Michael Glantz

During the White House correspondents' dinner on Saturday, a shooting incident occurred at the Washington Hilton hotel. Amid the chaos, Michael Glantz, a senior talent agent with the Creative Artists Agency, was recorded calmly eating his salad while others took cover and Secret Service agents responded.

In an interview with the New York Times, Glantz stated he has a bad back and did not want to get his tuxedo dirty on the floor. The event ultimately was cancelled. The hashtag #saladman trended on social media.

Additionally, two female guests were observed taking bottles of champagne from a table, and one took a selfie with a bottle.
