A Royal Token of Alliance: A Brooch Worn with History
During a four-day tour of the United States, Queen Camilla debuted a Cartier brooch of significant diplomatic symbolism.
The brooch, which depicts the Union Jack interlaced with the Stars and Stripes, is set with rubies, emeralds, and diamonds. Originally presented to Queen Elizabeth II by New York Mayor Robert F. Wagner in 1958, the jewel served as a subtle nod to the transatlantic relationship.
Camilla arrived in the US wearing a Dior coat dress, later changing into a white Anna Valentine dress with black beaded embroidery for a meeting with US President Donald Trump and First Lady Melania Trump at the White House.
Melania Trump opted for a yellow suit by Adam Lippes and snakeskin Manolo Blahnik heels for the occasion.
