Tragic Snakebite at Hotel Show Claims Life of German Tourist
HURGHADA, Egypt – A 57-year-old German tourist has died after being bitten by a cobra during a snake-charmer show at his hotel in the Red Sea resort of Hurghada, authorities confirmed.
The Incident
The man was vacationing with his family at a resort when he attended a show featuring two cobras. The performer placed the snakes around the necks of audience members. During the routine, one of the cobras entered the man’s trousers and bit his leg.
He immediately began showing symptoms of poisoning and required resuscitation. Despite being rushed to a local hospital, he died shortly after arrival.
Investigation Underway
German police have launched an investigation into the incident. The results of a toxicological examination are still pending.
