Melania Trump Remains Composed During White House Dinner Security Incident

"She was not frightened, followed Secret Service directions to take cover, and urged others at her table to do the same."

An armed suspect stormed the White House Correspondents' Association Dinner on Saturday evening, prompting Secret Service agents to evacuate President Donald Trump and First Lady Melania Trump. According to senior advisor Marc Beckman, the first lady maintained her composure throughout the incident.

During the evacuation, Beckman noted that a surprised expression on the first lady's face was due to a mentalist's act, not the security threat. She calmly followed Secret Service directions to take cover and actively encouraged others at her table to do the same.

After the Evacuation

Following the evacuation, Melania Trump joined the president and administration officials in the briefing room. President Trump later told media she was "very well" after the attempt.

Beckman reported that the first lady holds the Secret Service in high regard and is fully aware of the risks associated with being a member of the first family.
