Miami Grand Prix Faces Thunderstorm Threat
The FIA has issued a statement addressing concerns about potential thunderstorms during the Miami Grand Prix weekend. Friday and Saturday are expected to hot and sunny, but Sunday's race day may be affected by thunderstorms and heavy rainfall.
"We are closely monitoring the weather forecast for this weekend. Having faced a similar situation last year in Miami with threats of thunderstorms, we have a contingency plan in place and will activate it if needed to minimise disruption to the on-track programme."

Safety Regulations
A US law requires any major outdoor public event to be halted if there is an approaching thunderstorm due to lightning risk. This would force spectators to leave and ground the medical helicopter, which would stop all on-track activity.
Contingency Plans
The FIA is currently confident the race can be held on schedule but has authority to adjust the start time if needed, as occurred at the 2024 Brazilian Grand Prix.
