"He was remanded in custody and is scheduled to be sentenced at Bristol Crown Court on May 7."
James Holder, co-founder of the fashion brand Superdry, was convicted of rape on Friday by a jury in Gloucester Crown Court. The charge stemmed from an incident in May 2022 after a night of drinking in Cheltenham. Holder was acquitted of a separate charge of assault by penetration.
The accuser stated that Holder entered her taxi and home uninvited after they had been at a bar. She said he assaulted her after waking from a short nap and that she cried and asked him to stop. Holder denied the charges, claiming the sexual activity was consensual.
Holder, 54, is married with two children. He was remanded in custody and is scheduled to be sentenced at Bristol Crown Court on May 7.
