Quadruplets Born at KEMH: A First for WA in Six Years

Belinda Lotsu and Emmanuel Lotsu became parents to quadruplets at King Edward Memorial Hospital (KEMH) on Tuesday. The babies—Amy, Amana, Amber, and Amon—were delivered via caesarean section.

The quadruplets are the fifteenth recorded set in Western Australia and the first in six years.

"We initially expected triplets, but a later scan revealed a fourth baby," the couple shared.

The family resides in Kalgoorlie and relocated to Perth for the birth. All four infants are currently in the neonatal unit and are expected to be discharged in four to six weeks. The couple also has a three-year-old son, Carl.

Belinda Lotsu expressed surprise at having four babies at once. Her husband, Emmanuel, noted the strong support from their church and the local Ghanaian community.

Jourdin Ross, nurse and midwifery coordinator, described the birth as "amazing" and called Belinda Lotsu an inspiration to the staff.

When asked about future children, Belinda Lotsu indicated they are not planning more.
