Banksy Confirms New London Statue, City Officials Pledge to Preserve It

A new statue that appeared in Waterloo Place, central London, in the early hours of Wednesday, March 26, 2025, has been officially claimed by the elusive artist Banksy. The artist confirmed the work via a video posted to his Instagram account on Thursday.

The Artwork

The installation depicts a man in a business suit carrying a large flag that completely covers his face. He is shown stepping off a plinth into empty space, with no ground beneath him. The base of the statue bears Banksy’s signature.

Official Response

The artwork has already drawn a strong reaction from local authorities, who have expressed a desire to keep it in place.
