Ibrahem Hamze Sentenced to 13 Years for Murder Conspiracy

Ibrahem Hamze, a member of the Hamzy organized crime family, was sentenced to 13 years in prison in October 2023 for conspiracy to murder members of the Alameddine crime family. The sentence was subject to court orders that lapsed, allowing publication of his identity.
The Recruitment
In November 2021, Hamze recruited two men, referred to as Person 1 and Person 2, to carry out the murders.
He offered $2 million for the killing of senior Alameddine figure Masood Zakaria and $800,000 for other Alameddine members. The targets included John Bayssari, rappers Nasa Nova, and Ali Younes.
The Attack
Hamze provided the hit squad with assault rifles, getaway cars, and photos of the targets.
On November 28, 2021, the gunmen fired 18 shots from an M16 assault rifle and other weapons outside a gym in Prospect, New South Wales. Four Alameddine associates were wounded; Murat Gulasi sustained a leg injury.
"Bullets narrowly missed children at a nearby daycare center. No children were injured."
The Sentencing
All three gunmen were arrested.
- The third gunman, who drove the car, was sentenced to 23 years in prison for four counts of shooting with intent to murder; his sentence was later reduced on appeal to 15 years.
- Person 1 received 23 years, later reduced to 15 years.
Hamze was convicted of conspiracy to murder and will be eligible for parole in September 2030.
