Currently in Australia, they plan to continue their adventure despite facing the highest diesel prices of their trip.
To fund this epic journey, the family sold all their assets in Mongolia. After shipping their campervan from Asia to Australia, Mr. Sharavnyam worked locally for 10 months as a steel fixer, supplementing income from a small hotel and restaurant they own.
The Cost of Fuel
Diesel prices in Australia have become the most significant challenge. Filling up their campervan now costs about $250. Mr. Sharavnyam noted this is the highest price they have encountered anywhere in the world.

NRMA spokesperson Peter Khoury confirmed a decline in holiday park bookings over Easter, citing ongoing uncertainty. He suggested that high fuel costs may shift the travel demographic, with older retirees becoming more common on the road than young families.
The Road Ahead
The family is currently traveling from Sydney to Darwin via Queensland, with plans to eventually reach Melbourne. From there, they will ship their van to Los Angeles.
Mr. Sharavnyam emphasized that their goal is not to visit every country, but to create lasting memories with his children. To preserve these experiences, he has recorded over 200 videos of their journey for his children to watch in the future.
