Custom 1989 Nissan S13 with Wide Steel Body and SR20DET Swap Publicly Unveiled

Kirk Schmidt publicly unveiled his custom 1989 Nissan Silvia S13 at Meguiar's MotorEx during Shannons Unveils.

Build & Bodywork

The build took four years. The entire body is steel, hand-shaped using coachworks techniques by Rude Glory. The front track was widened by 75 mm, the rear by 150 mm, and arch heights were raised. A Nismo-style bodykit was fitted, including aluminum sideskirts and a matching front lip.

Performance & Engine

Originally a non-turbo automatic CA18-powered car, the vehicle now features a 2.0-liter SR20DET engine. The engine includes a pair of cams, a G30-725 turbo, Plazmaman plenum, and Haltech ECU. Power output is estimated at 400 hp, capable of 600 hp with higher boost.

Suspension, Wheels & Brakes

The car is equipped with airbag suspension, Panasport G7 wheels (17x9.5 front, 17x11 rear), and GT-R brakes.

Exterior & Interior

  • Exterior paint: Land Rover Grasmere Green (top) and Land Rover Corris Grey (bottom).
  • Interior: Bride bucket seats, custom retrim with tweed and matching leather.

Statement & Plans

Kirk stated he plans to PPF wrap the car after more shows and begin driving it.
