Yacov Levi, 50, was arrested after an incident at a beach near a luxury condominium in Surfside, Florida.
According to authorities, Levi became irate when told he could not use a beach chair belonging to the private property because he was not a resident. The situation escalated: Levi allegedly removed his clothing, charged at beachgoers with an umbrella, and then obtained a large drill, reportedly threatening to kill individuals.
Witnesses reported seeing him running along the waterfront with the tool. Police bodycam footage shows officers confronting Levi at gunpoint while he sat on one of the chairs. An officer is heard warning, "Put your hands up, or you’re going to get tased," after which a Taser was deployed.
Levi was taken into custody. According to court records, he faces charges of attempted aggravated battery with a deadly weapon, battery on a law enforcement officer, and criminal mischief.
Some social media users commented that the tool appeared to be an auger rather than a drill.
