Three off-duty Tasmanian police officers have been charged with separate offences following investigations by the Professional Standards Command.
A 28-year-old constable from northern Tasmania has been charged with common assault and issued with a Police Family Violence Order after an incident on Sunday. The officer, who was off-duty at the time, is scheduled to appear in the Launceston Magistrates Court on July 8.
A 39-year-old constable from southern Tasmania faces charges of burglary, stealing, and common assault following an incident on Friday morning. The officer was also off-duty, and will appear in the Hobart Magistrates Court on August 10.
On April 29, a 24-year-old trainee constable from southern Tasmania was charged with one count of stealing. The trainee is due to appear in the Hobart Magistrates Court on August 25.
All employees have been stood down. Tasmania Police stated that the charges arose from investigations by the Tasmania Police Professional Standards Command. Police said it was not appropriate to make further comment as the matters are before the court.
