Rahim Mundine Extends Perfect Record with Unanimous Decision Win

Newcastle, NSW – Rahim "CJ" Mundine, the son of former world champion Anthony Mundine, secured a unanimous decision victory over Lance McDonald on Wednesday night at the Newcastle Entertainment Centre.

"I expect big fights in 18 to 24 months."

The judges scored the bout 49-46, 49-46, and 48-47 in favor of Mundine. McDonald, known for his unconventional g-string weigh-in attire, performed better than expected as a betting outsider. Mundine, now 24 years old, improves to 3-0 as a professional.

Unfazed by the Crowd

Despite the audience voicing their displeasure with the result, Mundine stated he was unbothered by the booing. He attributed the reaction to his father’s legacy, noting that Anthony Mundine is "the most hated athlete ever in this country."

Weight Class and Future Plans

Mundine confirmed he will continue to campaign at super welterweight but left the door open for a potential move down to welterweight. When asked about a future fight with Michael Zerafa, Mundine gave a direct response:

"I will fight whoever is put in front of me."

He added that he expects to be in major matchups within the next 18 to 24 months.
