reMarkable has announced the Paper Pure, a 10.3-inch e-paper tablet that replaces the reMarkable 2, launched in 2020. The device is now available for preorder, with shipping expected in early June.
Product Specifications
The Paper Pure features a third-generation Canvas black-and-white E Ink display based on E Ink Carta 1300 technology. Improvements over previous models include enhanced contrast and faster refresh speeds. The company reports a battery life of up to three weeks based on one hour of daily use, powered by a 3,820mAh battery.
The tablet measures 6mm in thickness and weighs 360 grams. It does not include screen lighting, a characteristic shared with the reMarkable 2.
Target Market and Repair
The device is intended for corporate use and includes security features. It has been designed to be more repairable than its predecessor.
Software Features
New software capabilities include integration with Google Calendar and Microsoft Outlook, allowing meeting notes to be pre-filled with agenda items. These notes are saved as separate documents. Documents from Word or webpages can be converted to reMarkable's notebook format for full editing and formatting. The software features will be made available to other reMarkable products.
A Connect subscription is available for $3.99 per month or $39 per year, adding unlimited cloud storage, note editing, handwritten search, and document sharing via Slack.
