Rhys Stanley Set for Season Debut Against Collingwood
Geelong has selected veteran ruckman Rhys Stanley for Saturday night's blockbuster clash with Collingwood at the MCG, marking his first AFL match of the 2026 season.
Stanley, a premiership ruckman, has not played at the top level since the 2025 Grand Final. The 34-year-old has since built form through five VFL appearances, where he has been a dominant force, averaging 15 disposals and 28 hit-outs per game.
In a significant milestone for the Cats, defender Tom Stewart has been named in the back pocket and will play his 200th AFL game.
Meanwhile, young ruck prospect Mitch Edwards will be managed and miss the match after a run of seven consecutive games.
