Jonathan Bailey Joins 'Pumping Black' Alongside Natalie Portman

Jonathan Bailey, star of Wicked: For Good and Jurassic World Rebirth, has been cast in the psychological thriller Pumping Black, directed by Mimi Cave and co-starring Natalie Portman.

The film follows a professional cyclist navigating the competitive world of the sport under the guidance of a driven doctor.

Bailey will play Taylor Mace, a 35-year-old cyclist grappling with the reality of aging out of professional sports. Portman stars as Dr. Andrea Lathe, a doctor consumed by personal ambition.

Mimi Cave directs from a screenplay by Haley Hope Bartels. The film is produced by Stacey Sher (Shiny Penny), Mimi Cave, Sébastien Raybaud (Anton), Natalie Portman, and Sophie Mas (MountainA).

Production Details

  • Production is scheduled to begin in fall 2025.
  • International sales for Pumping Black were launched by Anton at the Cannes Film Market.
  • CAA is co-repping U.S. rights.
