Caitlin Clark Breaks WNBA Record, Fastest to 1,000 Points, 250 Rebounds, and 250 Assists
Caitlin Clark set a WNBA record by becoming the fastest player to reach 1,000 points, 250 rebounds, and 250 assists, achieving the milestone in 54 games. The previous record of 62 games was held by Diana Taurasi.
The milestone occurred during the Indiana Fever's season opener on Saturday, which they lost 107-104 to the Dallas Wings. Clark recorded 20 points, 7 assists, and 5 rebounds, shooting 7-of-18 from the field and 2-of-9 from three-point range. She missed a game-tying three-pointer in the closing seconds.
LeBron James acknowledged the achievement on Instagram.
Clark also made a brief visit to the locker room during the game for a back adjustment but stated she felt fine afterward. Later that evening, she appeared onstage with musician Morgan Wallen at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis.
The Fever's next game is Wednesday against the Los Angeles Sparks.
