Tragedy in Orange: Woman Dies in Tynan Street House Fire

Emergency services were called to a house fire on Tynan Street in Orange, Central West NSW, at approximately 9:20 PM on Sunday. Fire and Rescue NSW crews entered the home and found an unconscious 82-year-old woman. CPR was performed at the scene, but she was declared deceased.
The fire was brought under control shortly after 10 PM. No other individuals were in the home.

A crime scene has been established. Police are urging anyone with information about the fire or who was in the area at the time to contact Orange Police Station or Crime Stoppers.

A Fire and Rescue NSW spokesperson stated that working smoke alarms are critical. Smoke alarms should be tested monthly, cleaned regularly, and replaced every 10 years. Households are advised to have a clear and practised home evacuation plan.
