Seismic Swarm Rattles Imperial County Near Brawley
Over 350 minor earthquakes have been recorded since Saturday morning.
No major damage or injuries have been reported, according to the California Governor's Office of Emergency Services, which is actively monitoring the situation.
The largest quake, a magnitude 4.7, occurred shortly after midnight, with foreshocks beginning around 3 a.m. on Saturday.
Earthquake expert Dr. Lucy Jones stated that this level of activity is typical for the Brawley Seismic Zone.
The city of Brawley issued a statement on Sunday confirming that crews have responded to minor issues such as water leaks and utility concerns. The statement emphasized that there is no immediate threat to public safety or major infrastructure damage identified.
