Firefly Launches AIBOX-K3 Edge AI Mini PC with SpacemiT K3 SoC

Firefly has released the AIBOX-K3, an industrial-grade RISC-V edge computing box based on the SpacemIT Key Stone K3 octa-core processor. The device is now available through distributors.

AI Performance

According to Firefly, the system can achieve inference speeds over 10 tokens per second when running a 30B parameter model locally, including Mixture of Experts models. The SoC provides hardware security (M/S/U privilege, Spectre/Meltdown protection, PMP/ePMP, IOPMP) and encryption engines (AES, SHA, RSA, SM2, SM3, SM4).

Software

Firefly provides basic Linux and Windows flashing tools; the OS may not be pre-installed. SpacemiT supports multiple operating systems: Bianbu OS 3.0, Ubuntu 26.04 (with Canonical), OpenHarmony, OpenKylin, Fedora, Deepin, and others. Support for SpacemiT K3 has been added to Linux 7.0. Features include Docker, KVM virtualization, and ROS.

Pricing

The AIBOX-K3 starts at $349 for the 8GB RAM + 128GB storage configuration; the 32GB RAM version is $689.
