Turkish authorities have reported the disruption of planned attacks targeting Christmas and New Year's events, leading to the arrest of over 100 individuals suspected of affiliation with the Islamic State (IS) group.
Operations involved mass raids conducted at 124 addresses across Istanbul. During these actions, law enforcement seized firearms, ammunition, and organizational documents.
Officials, including the capital's chief prosecutor, stated that IS supporters had been actively planning attacks throughout Turkey, specifically against non-Muslim targets, for the current week.
Police detained 115 suspects in connection with these operations. Efforts are continuing to locate and apprehend an additional 22 individuals implicated in the alleged plots.
