Kansas City Public Schools to Go All-Apple, Replacing 30,000 Windows PCs and Chromebooks

Kansas City Public Schools has announced a major shift to an all-Apple district, swapping out over 30,000 Windows PCs and Chromebooks for Apple devices.

The district has purchased more than 4,500 MacBook Neo laptops for students in 8th grade and above. Younger grades will continue using existing iPads and MacBook Airs.

The MacBook Neo, priced at $499 for education buyers, may have been acquired at a further discounted bulk rate.

This deal could signal increased efforts by Apple to target the education market. Previously, Microsoft had offered a discount software bundle for students following the Neo's announcement.
