View source

The 2027 Ram 1500 Rumble Bee range has been unveiled, with the top SRT grade producing 579kW and 922Nm from a 6.2-litre supercharged petrol V8.

Performance

The Rumble Bee SRT matches the current Ram 1500 SRT TRX on power and torque but achieves 0-60mph (0-96.6km/h) in 3.4 seconds—0.1 second faster than the TRX. The quarter-mile drag time is 11.6 seconds, matching the TRX.

For comparison, the 0-60mph time equals that of the 2016 Dodge Viper ACR and 2021 Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat Redeye.

Other Grades

  • Entry-level Rumble Bee: 5.7-litre V8, 295kW, 556Nm, 0-60mph in 6.1 seconds.
  • Mid-range 392 variant: 6.4-litre V8, 350kW, 617Nm, 0-60mph in 5.2 seconds.
  • No Hurricane twin-turbo inline-six engines in the range.

Features

  • Full-time four-wheel drive with an 'RWD' button that decouples the front axle for burnouts.
  • Limited-slip rear differential optional on 392; Track Pack adds an electronic rear differential lock.
  • Launch control and Brembo front brakes are standard.

Background

The design pays tribute to the original Dodge Ram SRT-10 with an 8.2-litre V10 from the Dodge Viper (2004). Ram currently offers a 1500 range in Australia; the TRX Final Edition was sold in early 2024.

Ram Trucks Australia general manager Jeff Barber expressed excitement about the Rumble Bee and stated the company "seriously considers all model variants."

Australian Availability

Right-hand-drive conversions are handled by Walkinshaw in Melbourne. Australian importer Ateco could offer the high-performance pickup, as it did with the 2022 TRX.

Limited allocation is possible due to demand in the US home market and Australia's emissions regulations (NVES), with penalties of $100 per gram of CO2 per km for excess fleet emissions.
