HBF Run for a Reason 2026: A Record-Breaking Day for Charity

The 14th annual HBF Run for a Reason took over the streets of Perth on May 24, 2026, drawing an estimated 40,000 participants in a powerful display of community spirit and charitable giving.

The event raised nearly $1.7 million for more than 350 charities.

Participants tackled one of three courses: the Brooks Half Marathon, the Specsavers 12km, or the CommBank 3km. Since the event's inception in 2010, it has raised over $15.6 million for health and community organizations across Western Australia.

Fundraising Highlights

The top individual fundraisers demonstrated extraordinary dedication:

  • 1st: Duke Storer raised $16,682 for Cystic Fibrosis WA.
  • 2nd: Tina Ingraham raised $15,254 for MND Association of Western Australia.
  • 3rd: Emily Cross raised $10,215 for Perth Children's Hospital Foundation.

A Unique Participant

In an inspiring twist, a humanoid robot named StUWArt completed the 3km course. Developed by engineering students from the University of Western Australia, StUWArt ran to raise funds for the Perth Children's Hospital Foundation.
