Vasana Montgomery Removed from Love Island USA Season 8 Over Racial Slur Videos
Beaverton, Oregon — Vasana Montgomery, 25, has been dismissed from Love Island USA before the Season 8 premiere, after videos surfaced in which she used a racial slur. Peacock confirmed the footage was privately owned and not publicly shared prior to Montgomery's announcement, making it inaccessible during the standard vetting process.
Background
This marks the second consecutive year a Love Island USA contestant has been removed for racist comments.
- In June 2025, Yulissa Escobar left after the Season 7 premiere for using the N-word, later issuing an apology.
- Shortly after, Cierra Ortega was removed for using an offensive slur against Asians, posting an "accountability video" in which she claimed ignorance of the term.
Current Event
Montgomery will no longer appear on the show. The Season 8 cast now includes 11 other contestants. The season premieres June 2 at 9 p.m. ET on Peacock.
