Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis – a reimagining of the original 1996 classic – has been officially announced by Crystal Dynamics during the Future Games Show Summer Showcase.
The game is scheduled for release in February 2027, developed in collaboration with Flying Wild Hog.

Launching February 12, 2027, on Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC.
Selected editions will offer up to 48 hours of early access. An Amazon product listing previously indicated a release date of February 10, 2027, for the Steam version.

Tomb Raider Legacy of Atlantis is being developed by Flying Wild Hog in collaboration with Crystal Dynamics. The game is built using Unreal Engine 5.
According to Game Director Raul Siqueira, the project rebuilds existing material using modern technology while retaining core elements. The game is described as a reimagining, not a remake.
Gameplay and Features
The game features updated visuals, modernized gameplay, and additional story content.
- Traversal: Lara Croft's movement is precise and athletic, with acrobatic flourishes such as swan dives and handstands.
- Environments: Levels have been expanded and enlarged.
- Encounters: Iconic moments, including the battle against a Tyrannosaurus rex, have been transformed into cinematic-scale gameplay sequences.
- New Content: The game includes additions not present in the original 1996 title.
- Core Gameplay: Players will explore ancient ruins, traverse hazardous environments, solve puzzles, and confront creatures.
Plot
The narrative follows Lara Croft as she searches for fragments of the Scion, an artifact associated with significant power.
Locations include jungles in Peru, ruins in Greece, deserts in Egypt, and a mythical island.
Voice Cast
Lead actor Alix Wilton Regan voices Lara Croft, as shown in a behind-the-scenes developer video featuring the development team from Crystal Dynamics and Flying Wild Hog.
