Devil May Cry Animated Series to End with Third and Final Season
Netflix has renewed its animated series adaptation of the Devil May Cry gaming franchise for a third and final season. The series originally debuted on Netflix in 2025, with the second season launching in May 2026. Both seasons spent a combined four weeks on the Netflix Top 10 English-language TV chart.
"The three seasons are designed as a movie trilogy disguised as a television series."
The series follows Dante, an orphaned demon hunter, as he confronts forces attempting to open a portal between the human and demon realms.
A Trilogy in Three Acts
Showrunner Adi Shankar stated that the three-season structure was planned from the start. According to Shankar, the episode names reflect the structure:
- Season 1: "Inferno"
- Season 2: "Purgatorio"
- Season 3: "Paradiso"
Shankar described the three seasons as "The Force Edge Saga," a movie trilogy disguised as a television series.
The Cast and Crew
- Johnny Yong Bosch as Dante
- Robbie Daymond as Vergil
- Scout Taylor-Compton as Lady
Studio Mir provides the animation for the series.
With the final season on the horizon, fans can expect a complete arc for Dante's story—from the depths of "Inferno" through "Purgatorio" and into a final resolution in "Paradiso."
