Sydney Police Pursuit Ends in Officer Injured, Three Teenagers and Man Charged

A 21-year-old police officer sustained head and leg injuries after being struck by a vehicle during a pursuit in Sydney's lower north shore early this morning.

Incident Timeline

At approximately 4:30 a.m., officers attempted to stop a vehicle on Military Road in Mosman. The driver refused to stop, initiating a pursuit. The vehicle later stopped on Blue Street in North Sydney. As officers approached, the driver accelerated and hit an officer, causing head and leg injuries. The vehicle then struck an unmarked police car before fleeing the scene.

The officer was taken to hospital in stable condition.

Vehicle Found, Suspects Arrested

The vehicle was later found abandoned on Blues Point Road in North Sydney.

Police arrested a 22-year-old man, a 17-year-old boy, and two 17-year-old girls. All were taken to Chatswood Police Station.

Charges Laid

The 17-year-old boy was charged with multiple offenses including:

  • Causing grievous bodily harm with intent to resist arrest
  • Using an offensive weapon in company to prevent detention
  • Police pursuit (not stop, drive recklessly)
  • Learner driving without supervision
  • Driving a conveyance taken without consent

He was refused bail and will appear before a children's court tomorrow.

The 22-year-old man was charged with being carried in a conveyance taken without consent and goods in personal custody suspected stolen. He was granted conditional bail to appear before Manly Local Court on 18 June 2026.

The two 17-year-old girls were released pending further investigations.
