President Xi Jinping arrives in Pyongyang for first state visit to North Korea since 2019
Chinese President Xi Jinping arrived in Pyongyang on Monday for a two-day state visit, his first to North Korea since 2019.
North Korean leader Kim Jong-un and his wife Ri Sol-ju welcomed Xi and first lady Peng Liyuan at the airport. Xi was later given a welcoming ceremony at Kim Il-sung Square.
Xi is accompanied by top aide Cai Qi and Foreign Minister Wang Yi. This is his first overseas trip this year.
