Hulk Hogan Died of Natural Causes, Police Confirm

A Clearwater Police Department report released Friday has closed the investigation into the death of professional wrestling legend Hulk Hogan, ruling it a result of natural causes.

Official Investigation Closes

The report confirms there is no evidence of criminal wrongdoing in the death of Hogan, whose real name was Terry Bollea. He died on July 24 at age 71.

Circumstances of His Death

At the time he stopped breathing, Hogan's wife, a home health aide, and an occupational therapist were present at his home. They performed CPR until emergency services arrived.

Family members reported that Hogan had been battling multiple health issues prior to his death, including:

  • Leukemia
  • Irregular heart rhythm
  • Pneumonia
  • Kidney failure

He had also undergone several hospitalizations and surgeries in prior years.

Medical Findings

The medical examiner concluded that Hogan died from a heart attack and did not perform a full autopsy. A private autopsy paid for by the family confirmed the initial assessment, finding no traumatic or toxicological contributions to his death.

Legendary Career

Hogan was a dominant figure in WWE, winning at least six WWE championships. He was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2005 and reinstated in 2018 after being removed in 2015 for making racial slurs. A private funeral service was held several weeks after his death.
