Caitlin Foord Set to Become Matildas' Sixth Centurion
Foord will play her 150th match for the Matildas, becoming the sixth Australian woman to reach that milestone.
A Historic Achievement
The 31-year-old joins an elite group of players who have reached the 150-cap mark for Australia. She will be listed alongside current squad members Emily van Egmond and Alanna Kennedy, as well as former stars Clare Polkinghorne, Cheryl Salisbury, and Lisa De Vanna.
A Career Defined by Longevity and Class
Foord made her international debut at just 16 years old against New Zealand in 2011, playing at right back and scoring on the night.
In 149 appearances, she has netted 40 goals. While primarily known as a left winger, Foord's versatility has been a key asset throughout her career.
On the Record
When asked about the possibility of scoring in her usual position, Foord kept the focus on the team's success.
"It's always special to score in the green and gold, but I've always said I don't care who scores as long as we get it in the back of the net and win."
Looking Ahead
The milestone arrives shortly after Australia's loss to Japan in the Asian Cup final in March. Foord acknowledged that result remains a lingering focus for the squad.
