Nora Fatehi Kicks Off Canada’s 2026 FIFA World Cup Run with Global Anthem Debut
Toronto, ON – Nora Fatehi, a Canadian-born artist of Moroccan descent, took the stage at Toronto’s BMO Field on Friday, officially launching Canada’s portion of the 2026 FIFA World Cup festivities. The performance marked the premiere of her official FIFA anthem, "Siir Siir"—a multilingual track blending Moroccan Darija, Arabic, French, and English.
The song, whose title is derived from a Moroccan football chant meaning “go, go,” was created in collaboration with Vegedream and Sanjoy. Its music video, filmed in Morocco, prominently features street soccer, grounding the anthem in grassroots football culture.
Fatehi, who previously performed at the Qatar 2022 World Cup closing ceremony, brought a distinct global flavor to the Canadian leg of the tournament’s build-up. Her appearance followed an opening ceremony at Mexico City’s Estadio Azteca on Thursday, which featured international stars Shakira, Burna Boy, J Balvin, and Tyla ahead of Mexico’s 2-0 victory over South Africa.
