Israeli Strikes in Southern Lebanon

On Saturday, Israeli airstrikes hit several areas in southern Lebanon, including the villages of Rihan and Sujud, according to Lebanon's National News Agency (NNA). The strikes followed an Israeli army evacuation warning for 20 locations, including the city of Nabatieh, urging residents to move north of the Zahrani River.

The Israeli army declared areas south of the river as combat zones last month.

US-Iran Peace Deal Expected

Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif stated that the United States and Iran have agreed on a framework for a peace deal, expected to be signed within 24 hours. Pakistan has been mediating the negotiations.

Iran's foreign ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baghaei noted that the signing of the Islamabad memorandum would not occur on Sunday but could happen in the coming days. Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi said the tentative agreement indicates Iran emerged stronger from the conflict and would also end the war in Lebanon.

Funeral for Iran's Late Supreme Leader

State media reported that the funeral for Iran's late Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei will begin in Tehran on July 4 and conclude with burial in Mashhad on July 9. Khamenei was killed in Israeli and US strikes in February. His son, Mojtaba, succeeded him in early March.
