17-year-old boy charged with murder after man stabbed to death in Tennant Creek

On June 12, at approximately 1:10 am, police responded to a report of a stabbing on Griggs Street in Tennant Creek, Northern Territory. They found a 21-year-old man with a laceration to his neck, who was declared deceased shortly after.

Arrest and Charge

Later that day, police arrested a 17-year-old boy at a nearby residence. He has been charged with murder and remanded in custody, with a court appearance scheduled for tomorrow.

Police Statement

Acting Commander Mark Grieve described the incident as "another senseless death" and extended condolences to the family.

He urged calm in the community, stating "violence is not the answer."
