Couple reunites after 12 years and becomes engaged

View source

A dream led to a reunion. A proposal sealed a bond that had waited decades to be rekindled.

Reunion

Cambell Priest and Tiana Storm first met as nine-year-olds in Labrador, on the Gold Coast, after Priest’s family relocated from Auckland. They lost touch at age 13.

In 2022, Storm had a vivid dream about Priest. She searched for him and found his inactive Facebook account, sending a message. At the same time, Priest had recently spoken to his boxing coach about a deep emotional connection he had felt since he was nine years old.

Three days later, Storm’s message arrived. A week after that, they met again at Storm’s apartment. The reconnection was swift: they moved in together after about a month and a half.

Engagement

In early 2024, the couple moved to Batemans Bay. Storm returned to the Gold Coast for work, and her mother arranged a gathering with a family friend at the housing complex where they had first met.

Priest set up 480 tealight candles with notes placed at the spots of their core memories. He proposed. Storm accepted.

“The engagement strengthened our bond,” Storm said.
