Sam Pang Stars in ABC Comedy Series Ground Up About Tasmania's AFL Team

Sam Pang, best known for his work on radio and television panel shows, is stepping into a leading scripted role for the first time in the new ABC comedy series Ground Up.

The six-part workplace comedy follows the creation of Tasmania's new AFL team and the associated stadium controversy, unfolding in real time alongside the actual establishment of the Tasmanian Devils.

Pang plays Hugh Shen, an AFL administrator tasked with winning public support for the new stadium. Emma Harvie co-stars as Destiny Pitt, the team's chief financial officer.

The series was created by Wayne Hope and Robyn Butler, the team behind Upper Middle Bogan and The Librarians.

"I didn't write or direct the series," Pang said, crediting Hope and Butler. "I'm excited and nervous about the release, and I hope audiences enjoy it."
