Trump Meets Zuckerberg, Ellison at UFC Event Following Paramount Merger Approval
President Donald Trump spoke with Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg and Paramount Skydance CEO David Ellison cage-side during a break between fights at the UFC Freedom 250 event on Sunday.
The Interactions
The conversations took place in the VIP area near the Octagon. Ellison knelt beside the president for approximately 90 seconds while Trump remained seated. Zuckerberg then approached Trump, shook his hand, and greeted first lady Melania Trump.
Following the individual exchanges, Trump stood and joined a group photo with Ellison, Zuckerberg, and others, including UFC President Dana White.
Context of the Meeting
The meeting comes just two days after the Department of Justice approved on Friday a merger between Paramount and Warner Bros. Discovery.
The deal would give Paramount control of CNN, HBO, and other Warner Bros. Discovery assets.
Paramount has stated the deal is "fundamentally pro-competitive" and committed to investing in journalism.
