NASA Opens Registration for Social Media Event for Nancy Grace Roman Space Telescope Launch

Registration opens June 15 and closes June 28 at 11:59 p.m. EDT.

NASA has announced a two-day social media event for the launch of the Nancy Grace Roman Space Telescope, scheduled for August 30, 2026, on a SpaceX Falcon Heavy rocket from Kennedy Space Center, Florida.

Registration Details

  • Up to 50 digital creators will be selected to attend.
  • Eligibility: Members of the public actively using social media to reach unique audiences. Current or former NASA employees, contractors, and interns are not eligible.
  • Selected participants will be notified starting July 17; waitlist notifications on July 22.
  • Open to U.S. citizens and foreign nationals.
  • Participants must be at least 18 years old.

Participant Activities

  • Tour NASA's Kennedy Space Center.
  • Learn from astrophysics experts.
  • Meet other digital creators and NASA social media staff.
  • View the rocket launch.

Logistics

  • Participants are responsible for their own travel, accommodation, and food costs.
  • Valid identification is required for entry; REAL ID-compliant ID or passport for U.S. citizens; foreign passport or other documents for non-citizens.
  • Launch date may change; if postponed within 72 hours, event may be rescheduled; if beyond 72 hours, event may be canceled.
  • Registration is non-transferable and for one person only.

The Nancy Grace Roman Space Telescope is NASA's next flagship astrophysics mission, aiming to study exoplanets, dark energy, and cosmic structure.
