DSX 3.2 Beta Brings Wireless DualSense Audio and Haptics to PC
The third-party software DSX has entered a new phase with version 3.2, now available in beta. The flagship feature, "Virtual DualSense with Audio Support," promises a significant upgrade for PC gamers using the PlayStation 5 controller.
"This update allows games to send native DualSense audio and haptics through DSX over Bluetooth or USB."
Until now, advanced haptic features—such as nuanced vibration effects and speaker audio from the controller—generally required a wired USB connection to function properly. This new feature set aims to deliver that same fidelity wirelessly via Bluetooth, expanding the controller's utility for a cable-free setup.
How It Works
DSX acts as a conversion and customization layer for the DualSense controller on PC. It allows users to translate audio outputs into haptic feedback and fine-tune controller behavior. The version 3.2 beta update specifically enables the controller to receive native audio and haptic data over a wireless signal, mimicking the functionality typically reserved for a direct USB link.
A One-Time Add-On
To access the new wireless features, users will need to purchase a DSX+ add-on. This is a one-time payment in addition to the base DSX software.
- Total Investment: The combined cost of base DSX and the DSX+ upgrade is approximately £10.
Important Note
This is a paid software solution. While it enhances the DualSense experience, users should be aware that the new features require the additional DSX+ purchase to function.
