Glue Store permanently closes remaining stores, ceases online orders

The retail chain Glue Store has permanently closed its remaining 16 stores in Australia and ceased online orders. Parent company Accent Group made the decision after Glue reported a loss of $8.4 million in its half-year results.

The closure follows the shuttering of 17 underperforming stores in 2024 and the exit from New Zealand in 2022 after a brief entry.

Accent Group stated it will focus on growth opportunities from its global brands including Lacoste, Hoka, and Sport Direct.

Glue Store thanked customers for their loyalty in a statement on its website but did not disclose the number of jobs affected.
