Tragic Crash in Laredo: Business Jet Crashes Onto Highway, Killing One
LAREDO, Texas — A Cessna Citation Latitude business jet operated by NetJets crashed onto Loop 20 near Laredo, Texas, on Tuesday night, shortly before 10 p.m.
"The aircraft had reported mechanical problems while attempting to land at Laredo International Airport."
Fatalities and Injuries
Capital Factory co-founder and CEO Joshua Baer was killed in the crash. The five other occupants on board survived with non-serious injuries.
The plane also struck a moving vehicle, injuring one person in the car. Additionally, five Laredo police officers were hospitalized for injuries sustained during rescue efforts.
Investigation Underway
Federal investigators from the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) and the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) are on site. The cockpit voice recorder and flight data recorder will be analyzed.
The investigation is expected to last up to two years.

Laredo Mayor Dr. Victor Trevino commended first responders and the public for their rescue efforts.
Capital Factory confirmed Baer's death and stated the company remains operational. The company declined further comment during the active federal investigation.
