OpenAI Launches Scheduled Tasks in ChatGPT
A new feature lets users automate reminders, recurring work, and monitoring—directly within ChatGPT.
OpenAI is introducing a scheduled tasks feature for ChatGPT, rolling out starting today. This functionality allows users to ask ChatGPT to send reminders, handle recurring work, or monitor things on their behalf.
Key Details
- A new Scheduled page in the sidebar lets users view active tasks, see when they'll run next, pause, resume, edit, or delete them.
- Tasks are faster and more reliable than previous capabilities.
- Users can schedule work for specific times or broader windows (morning, afternoon, evening).
Monitoring tasks can search the web and check connected apps for changes, notifying users only when something worth reporting occurs.
Important Limitations
- Scheduled tasks are capped at running once per hour.
- Unattended tasks may automatically pause after a period of inactivity.
The new system will replace Pulse, the existing proactive tasks feature, which is being removed in 14 days.
Availability
Scheduled tasks are available today for Plus, Pro, Business, and Enterprise users on web and mobile.
