Patricia Ilhan, Philanthropist and Businesswoman, Dies at 62

Patricia Ilhan, a prominent Melbourne philanthropist and businesswoman, passed away on June 18, 2026, at the age of 62, after a battle with cancer.

A Life of Legacy and Loss

She founded the Ilhan Food Allergy Foundation in 2006 alongside her first husband, John Ilhan. Following John’s sudden death in 2007, Patricia inherited the Crazy John’s telecommunications empire. In 2008, she sold a 75% stake in the company to Vodafone for $150 million.

Health Battle

In 2019, Ilhan was diagnosed with breast cancer. The disease initially went into remission, but recurred in December 2025.

Family and Community Tribute

Ilhan is survived by her four children, stepdaughter, and second husband, Chris Blackman.

State MP for Brighton, James Newbury, said: "Our community is heartbroken. A big-hearted friend to so many... We will miss her greatly."
